This Whole wheat pasta & black beans are not only easy to make, but it’s also nutritious, high in fibre and minerals. The texture of the whole wheat pasta tastes exactly like the regular pasta, so you are getting your pasta craving but with a whole lot of amazing benefits.
Whole wheat pasta & black beans ingredients
- Whole wheat pasta: You can use any brand or type of whole wheat pasta you like.
- Black beans: This is the time to use the can of black beans tucked away in your pantry.
- Chopped onions
- Minced garlic
- Diced habanero peppers
- Tomato paste
- Tomato puree
- Bell peppers
- Fresh plum or cherry tomatoes
- Chopped parsley

- Paprika
- Dried oregano
- Seasoning cubes/powder

How to make whole wheat pasta & black beans
- Cook your pasta in boiling salted water until it’s cooked but not all the way through.
- While the pasta is cooking, heat up a pan and add some oil. Add in the chopped onions, chopped garlic, and chopped habanero peppers.
- Sauté until fragrant and add in the tomato paste. Cook the tomato paste while stirring for 2 minutes, then add the tomato puree. Season the sauce with paprika, dried oregano and seasoning powder.
- Add in the black beans and some of the pasta water.
- Toss in the cooked pasta and stir till it’s well coated with the sauce.
- Finish the dish off with the chopped bell peppers, diced tomatoes and parsley.
- Serve hot and enjoy.

Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked pasta
- 1 can black beans "rinsed & drained"
- 1 small onions "chopped"
- 1 bell pepper "chopped"
- 1 garlic clove "minced"
- 1 large habanero pepper "chopped"
- ½ cup tomato puree
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 large tomato "chopped"
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tbsp seasoning powder
- Salt and pepper "to taste"
- chopped parsley
Instructions
